whew

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

I can’t believe how insanely busy I’ve been the last week or so.  Last week I started moving stuff out of my cube, bringing it home in preparation for starting my new job this past Monday, and I also started back to jujitsu class. With the fall clinic coming up at the beginning of next month, I have to get back into shape for it.  So not only did I have new job prep going on, I had lots of soreness going on too.

gratitude

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

Well, tomorrow I start my new job. I’m very excited about it: new challenges, new people, and a second chance to do things right. I knew it was right for me for a number of reasons: more money, less stress, and I’m starting on exactly my sixth anniversary of when I started working for the company. I took it as a good omen, a sign that I was supposed to make the move. There were a few things about my old job I didn’t care for, which I won’t go into here.

Samhain is coming!

Monday, October 1st, 2007

This post is about more than Samhain, but it seemed an appropriate way to start… Tomorrow night I’ll be getting out the Halloween decorations and putting them up, as time permits.  I love Halloween, it’s become my favorite holiday.

harvest magic

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

wiccan no more

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

When we first met, my girfriend asked me a question that kicked around my mind for a long time. She asked me about my religion, which I responded to with my answer of Wiccan with a heavy Zen influence, and then she asked the question: why did I feel it necessary to put a label on my religion? (long post ahead)

the thinning veil

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

As a Wiccan, I follow the widely accepted thought that there is a hidden Veil that separates our world from the next, where spirits go when they pass from this life.  As Samhain approaches, that veil gets thinner, making it easier for those on the other side to make their presence known.

life and spirituality

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

I had to think for a moment about this entry.  The last couple of days have been eventful for me: my parents left to visit my mom’s relatives in Florida, although I’ve been out of jujitsu class for over 2 weeks because of my thumb, I’m going back tomorrow night, I spent last night cleaning around the house, spent tonight doing some shopping for food and other stuff, so I was wondering for a moment what I was going to talk about, since there didn’t seem to be much spiritual going on in my life the last couple of days.  Then I remembered, oh yeah, life is a spiritual experience, I just forget that sometimes.

blogging with a purpose

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

I had an idea today.  Actually, I have ideas everyday, depending on who you ask, but I thought this one particularly worth mentioning.  The Magyck Veil here is going to begin hosting open full moon rituals, which is very good for the community.  There is an issue though, and I’ve heard it expressed on more than one occasion since the idea was brought up at the open Mabon circle: people don’t know that much about the Craft.
