First, just let me mention the new link on the side pionting to my other blog at Zaadz, which was also a personal blog, but I have decided to focus it on things that uplift people’s spirits rather than having it personal, two personal blogs was too time consuming.

Today I was at Riverbanks, as usual, admiring the fall colors of the trees and the roses that were blooming despite the chill of recent weather systems.  I was walking across the bridge that separates the zoo from the garden, thinking about my job,  jobs in general, the ability to reason, and humanity’s obsession with cause and effect. Yesterday and today were a study of contrasts.  Yesterday I was restless, couldn’t hardly sit still, it was definitely worse after I got home than it was at work, where I couldn’t hardly sit still anyway.  Watching part of The Matrix helped, but it didn’t last long.  I had an unpleasant dream last night… I can’t say nightmare, because it wasn’t frightening, but I would have been better off without it, I think.  I kinda picked up where I left off this morning until I got to visit Riverbanks.

It’s that time of the year again. No, I’m not talking about the first Christmas ornaments making their appearance on store shelves, I’m talking about harvest time. At the risk of being cliché, I want to talk about the harvest going on in my life at the moment.

Tonight I had the good fortune to visit the local botanic gardens after normal operating hours.  Once a month during the summer, they hold what are called first thuirsdays, where the gardens are opened up from 6 - 9 pm for music, food, and some drink if you desire.

I got on the scale yesterday morning: 190.0 even.  Up from last time, but not unexpected since I ate like crap at the end of last week.  Although I haven’t eaten much better the last couple days, I expect next week will be a bit better.

I took the day off from work to do some stuff, and it was certainly an interesting day.
