If you’ve followed my blog over the last few months, you may recall that at times I’ve said that I had the feeling that something big was around the corner, though I was never exactly sure when it was going to get here, or what it was. Well, it’s here. And as usual, it’s not what I expected.
Right now things look like the perfect storm, setting to take me places that even a year ago I thought I might never be. Well, I’m not there yet, but now a potential way there has presented itself, and I grabbed hold with both hands and jumped aboard. Yesterday I talked about needing to decide on an achievable goal, one that wasn’t too easy, nor too far away. It didn’t take me long to decide that goal should be passing the black belt test.
But that isn’t the only one, I’m really going to put this to the test – I’m going to do 3 goals at once. I want to lose some weight, and I see that my jujitsu class is going to be a major part of that, So, why not score a two for one? I’m more than capable, and I know what I need to do in order to make that happen.
The third goal is also the unforeseen opportunity that could change my entire life. One of my co-workers came up with an outstanding idea for an Android application, something that isn’t on the market yet. I think we could have this ready for beta testing in the next couple of months, and if it catches on, we’re going to make a lot of money. I mean a lot. We’re talking 7 digit job quitting money. It wouldn’t get there overnight, by any stretch, but two or three years down the road, it’s very possible.
This could really be it – the thing that changes everything. I can’t say for sure if this is the one, but either way it’s a game changer for me. I haven’t been this excited to work on an application in quite some time, and it’s more than the potential to make some serious cash – this project has presented some unique technical challenges, challenges I’ve never needed to solve before this. I haven’t stretched myself like this for work in quite a while, it feels really good.
So, I’ll keep you you updated as things come along, and let you know when our code has reached the beta testing stage, because we’ll be giving it away for free – for a while.
