planned break

This may be my last blog for the next few days – two days from now, I’ll be standing on a mat in a hotel meeting room, enjoying the company and instruction of fellow martial artists for four consecutive days. Once again it’s time for the martial arts clinic that is presented by my school each year. As with year’s passed, I’m really getting excited a bout going, though I won’t be testing for my black belt as originally planned after last year’s clinic. The line up of instructors is nothing short of spectacular, as usual, I have already seen the list of classes, and I have one word to describe them – awesome!

While some of the tried and tested material will be there, there will also be a lot of new material from at least a couple of the instructors, and I can’t wait to go to their classes. I would love to tell you about them, but out of respect for my Professor, the teachers involved, and to avoid any last minute changes I will refrain from discussing them for now. Let’s just say there’s going to be some real juice at the clinic this year and leave it at that.

I will likely be writing an entry or two while the clinic is going on, though I may or may not post them online. There are things that I will not talk about in my blog – amazing, perhaps, given the depth and amount of thought I’ve posted previously.

I’m looking forward to this year’s clinic – I have a feeling that I’m going to learn something that’s going to have a big impact on my life, something that will take me in a direction I might not have gone in otherwise. I don’t know what it’s going to be, or even who I’m going to learn it from – I just know it’s going to happen. I may or may not recognize it until later, but somehow I think I’m going to recognize it, and that it will be the key to a lock I didn’t even know I was trying to open in addition to a couple I was.

Something big is getting ready to happen. I don’t know what, or when, but I can feel it coming. I can’t wait.
