invitation
Ok, so now that I’ve started being honest, I mean really honest with myself about things, it’s time to take the next step in this progression. As you may remember, I’ve set several rather large goals for myself to accomplish this year: get my black belt, take the next module of seifukujitsu, write a book/photograph Riverbanks gardens through the year, and finish a first draft, possibly second on my novel. Well, here it is, mid-February, and I’m really only making progress on one of the four goals so far.
Additionally, there are some other things I’d like to achieve as well. I want to lose another 15 or so pounds, down to 175, or lower, and I want to convert to an almost all raw diet. I’ve already lost sokme weight from where I started. When I started, I was up over 205, and now I’ve reached a stable plateau of around 190. But that’s not good enough for me.
So here’s my invitation to you: take this journey for the rest of the year with me. Starting tomorrow, everything that goes in my mouth goes on this blog. Everything I do towards achieving my goals, or fail to do goes on this blog. I’m going to succeed or fail in public, and the responsibility for achieving these goals is all on my shoulders - I take all the responsibility - I can make myself a success, or I can make myself a failure, but either way, it’s up to me.
As I go along, I’m not just going to talk about what I’ve eaten, what kind of exercise I did or didn’t do, or what I did or didn’t do towards my goals - I’m going to talk about the mental things I’m doing too. I’m going to visualize, I’m going to put things down on paper and tell you about it, I’m going to talk about my habits, my attitudes, and my thoughts as the process goes along. I’m inviting you along for the ride. If you have a goal you want to achieve too, I invite you to take your trip along with me, leave comments, write me an email and let me know how it’s going. I am responsible for my goals, but we’re all in this together.
