hitman
Not so long ago I went to see the movie Hitman in the theatres. Not a bad action flick really - not my favorite, but definitely worth the price of a ticket. I’d seen the game in Sam’s Club a year or two ago, shopping for something else, and while I didn’t pick it up then, it stuck in my mind as something I might want to buy and play. Of course, I didn’t know they were going to adapt it into a miovie.
The thought lay dormant for a while, and came back to life when I saw the movie. With some of the generous Christmas money I received, I decided to indulge myself and get a Hitman game. Well, some water has gone under the bridge since the first game’s release, earlier this year three of them were packaged up and sold together. Naturally I decided to go ahead and pick up the trilogy.
I’ve only played one of the three so far, and this is by far the most complicated video game I’ve ever played, bar none. I have a PS2, and every button on the controller is used for something, all 15 of them or however many there are. My game play is still pretty rough, and even after a couple of hours logged on the game I’m still getting used to the game controls.
Despite my trouble getting used to the controls, there’s something satisfying about being able to slash and shoot away any residual work stress on the screen. Yes, I know the game is ultraviolent and doesn’t really have any redeeming social value. But hey, at least it’s one more option for venting any frustrations I might be experiencing. Much more satisfying than sitting in front of the tv, watching some inane programming about something I don’t care about. Maybe that’s why I don’t watch tv very much - no redeeming value to me anymore, excpet cessation of thought.
Anyway, just wanted to make you aware of a series of older, but fun game to play, albeit from an admittedly occasional, rookie, and novice game player.
