harvest magic
It’s that time of the year again. No, I’m not talking about the first Christmas ornaments making their appearance on store shelves, I’m talking about harvest time. At the risk of being cliché, I want to talk about the harvest going on in my life at the moment.
I know I’ve written a lot lately about how unhappy I am at work and with some other things, but not this time. Tomorrow morning I’m going to work and telling my boss that I’m leaving. I was offered a job Friday at one of our subsidiary companies, and I’m taking it. The pay’s a little better, I get to keep all my benefits, and there’s a lot less stress. I’m looking forward to the new position.
I know I’m supposed to take this position, I know it. You see, the date they want me to start the new job is exactly 6 years to the day when I first started working for the company. I can’t believe it’s just coincidence. I’m getting a rare second chance from the universe to do things over - to do them right this time. It feels that way to me, anyway.
This is a continuation of a pattern that’s been going on for several years for me - something big and good happening between Lughnasad and Mabon. Sometimes that period gets extended out to Samhain, but not always. I’m very happy about all this, and I feel a greater urgency in getting my gratitude ritual written and done.
I do want to talk about the subject of harvesting in general too. Although I can’t find the reference at the moment, I recently read something that said basically, if you want something in your life, be that and then act naturally, and it will manifest. The idea is simple, and like many simple things, also hard. For example, if you want your life to reflect confidence, be confident and act natural, and it will show. the one thing it didn’t talk about was how to be what it is you want in the first place, or planting the seed, which is the most important part. If you don’t take the first step toward the destination, you’ll never get there.
I have some things I want in my life, and I won’t go into them here. Suffice it to say that this harvest, I’ve taken the first steps towards being what I want and manifesting it by acting naturally.
