online dating sucks
Ok, so maybe that’s a bit harsh, but the reality of it is, it’s a lot of work with only a glimmer of reward out there. After several potential contacts at a dating site that shall remain nameless, I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my membership so I could email a couple of them.
A couple were attractive looking, but I disqualified them because they smoke. My friends can smoke all day if they want, but I will not date a woman that smokes. So, of the two remaining that I would consider, I sent them emails. One responded to me, but apparently after she sent her email she also changed her sexual preference… needless to say, I just figured she was a swinger, deleted the email and forgot about her.
The other one I traded emails with once, but when she directed me to another site for more pics of her, it was a swingers site, a site that lists attached women only looking to pick up guys on the side. I guess if that’s what they want to do, so be it, but that is not my style at all. I basically sent an email back saying thanks, but no. Dating rule number one for me is no women that are married, have boyfriends, or are otherwise unavailable. I guess I should have known better to start with, but oh well.
I’ll keep looking, I’m sure there’s someone out there that I’ll be happy with, I just haven’t found her yet.
