working sunday
Not a working day in the sense that I’m going to the office, but I will be working around the house today. Yesterday was an exercise in frustration as I attempted to fix my bathtub faucets, which have been leaking.
I’m not going to talk much about how I spent almost the entire day yesterday working on the thing, the 6 trips to the hardware store, and how if the cold water tap leaks I’ll have to have a plumber fix it since likely the whole faucet will need replacement due to a stripped valve seat. The good news is the thing is fixed, at least for now, and I can get on with other things without walking in and seeing the water running in the bathroom tub, even with the faucets off.
Since I lost all that time yesterday, I’ll be quite busy today. I haven’t done laundry, dishes, or any prep work for the week. I went out and mowed the lawn already to avoid the heat of the day. It’s only 9:20 as I write this. Yesterday on one of my trips, I saw a sign that said 98 degrees. I believe it. It was absolutely oppressive yesterday.
So not a lot went right yesterday, but at least enough went right for me to get done what I wanted. Today I’ll be doing all the stuff I wanted to do yesterday but couldn’t. I’ll be practicing my contact juggling today some as well, my 3rd practice. I’ve already written about the first two lessons, but I’m saving them locally and not putting them up on the internet, at least not yet. I want to see the evolution of what happens before I start sharing with anyone else, as it were.
I’m going to do something this Thursday I haven’t done in a while: a new moon ritual. There’s some pent up energy I want to release and some things I want to bring in, so it’s time to sit down and write a ritual and do one. To help move some of the energy in here around, I’ll be smudging daily until ritual day. then I’m going to keep on smudging around the house, but instead of using sage as I will until the ritual, I’ll be using frankincense to clean but also build positive energy, followed by some nag champa to help settle it in. After ritual on Thursday, I think some people are going to be very surprised at the changes in me. They won’t be big, at least at first, but they are going to make a big difference.
Alright, I need to get going and take a shower and otherwise get going on my day.
