2007, one week later

Well, it’s been an interesting start to 2007.  Things are looking really good right now, I think it’s going to be a very good year.

Part of the reason I’m writing now is because of my weight update - 181.4 lbs, down 2.4 lbs from last week, 6.4 to go til I reach my goal of 175.  I haven’t been down to this weight since I left the Army, when I weighed about 175.  I love losing weight: I feel better, I’m in better shape, and I think I look better.  Yay me!

As if that weren’t enough, I have a phone interview tomorrow morning for a Java developer that’s not with the company I’m currently with, but still in town so I wouldn’t have to move.  Yay!  I like what i do now, but not who I’m doing it for, so any chance to do what I want and do it elsewhere could be good.  And it would be more money to boot.  And I could think about making some changes to certain situations that would be really good for me.

I know it’s early in the year, but I really believe this is my year, the year when a lot of things start coming together in a positive way.  And while the foundation for these changes has been laid in the less than pleasant events of the last couple years, they were necessary changes to get me to this point.  In short, I’ve been through the fire and come through transformed - last year I was the ash, this year I’m a pheonix, risen from the ashes of my own death, in a manner of speaking.  Well, gotta go, got to get ready for the world…
