As this may be my last post of the year, Happy New Year!
Well, Christmas day has come and gone, thank Goddess. Since Christmas came on a Monday, I weighed in just as I should: 185.8 lbs, another 2.2 pounds gone, just over 10 to go.
With the unusually warm weather we’ve been having lately, I decided to visit the Riverbanks Botanical Gardens this morning.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson
With only one class remaining for the year, it doesn’t look like I’ll start 2007 with a brown belt. That realization disappointed me a lot last night.
Before getting into the topic at hand, quick mention that I weighed in at 189 even yesterday, 14 pounds left to my goal.
Yule is coming, only 3 days away now. I’ve finished this round of cleaning stuff out of my house - been through all the closets, the kitchen cabinets, old paperwork, I’ve been through it all.
Last night’s jujitsu class was great, I refined some of my techniques, and learned something I’d like to share.
To state the obvious, I’ve been evaluating my life and the world around me lately. One of the lessons I’ve been learning is how insubstantial this thing we call reality really is.
Well, cleaning things out is progressing nicely. Most people do their heavy duty cleaning in the spring - it would appear I do it in the fall.
I’ve been doing a lot of growing and changing in the last year and a half, in a lot of ways. I’ve noticed that bad days don’t have the ability to stick around like they used to.
