the art of clip fu
I don’t plan on making a habit of talking about my workplace, but I have to tell you this: the Clip War has started again.
About 3 years or so ago, my manager started what would be the first Clip War. What is a clip war? Simply put, the object of clipping is to attach a binder clip to someone’s clothing and then see how long they walk around with it on before they notice or someone tells them about it. When I mentioned it to a new person I work with, his response was doesn’t that hurt? At which point I had to tell him that if you’re grabbing skin, you’re clip fu is very bad and you should just quit.
So that art of clip fu is about clipping others without getting caught while avoiding being clipped yourself. Needless to say, many of us have mirrors to avoid the stealth clip. I’ve been considering changing the name from clip fu to clipjitsu, but clipjitsu simply means clip method, and it just lacks the ring of clip fu.
So, while I had a great deal of fun at work yesterday, I didn’t get a lot of work done, I was too busy clipping people or avoiding getting clipped. Of course, going to meetings didn’t help me get any work done either.
