the thinning veil

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

As a Wiccan, I follow the widely accepted thought that there is a hidden Veil that separates our world from the next, where spirits go when they pass from this life.  As Samhain approaches, that veil gets thinner, making it easier for those on the other side to make their presence known.

coincidences

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

I received an email a couple days ago that I have to think was more than coincidence.  It’s a newsletter from the Science of Being Well, a site that links how we think to our physical health, and how to change our thinking to improve our health.  The email contained a couple of articles about Ho’oponopono, a Hawaiian healing method pretty much unknown here in the states.

I had to think for a moment about this entry.  The last couple of days have been eventful for me: my parents left to visit my mom’s relatives in Florida, although I’ve been out of jujitsu class for over 2 weeks because of my thumb, I’m going back tomorrow night, I spent last night cleaning around the house, spent tonight doing some shopping for food and other stuff, so I was wondering for a moment what I was going to talk about, since there didn’t seem to be much spiritual going on in my life the last couple of days.  Then I remembered, oh yeah, life is a spiritual experience, I just forget that sometimes.

the power of the small

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Yesterday I watched Serendipity for the, uh, 25th (low guess probably) time.  For some reason, I always get sucked into the story line, and before I know it, the movie’s over.  Well, yesterday, I think I figured out why that is.  Superficially, the movie is about two people trying to find each other years after they spent some time together on one evening, and how fate arranges things to make that happen.  On a whole other level, the movie serves as a great example of the inherent power of small things.
